Dr. Nicole Ortiz is originally from San Diego, California and is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles. She spent the year following her undergraduate degree working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration researching the effects of climate change on marine mammals.
She then relocated to New York and obtained her medical degree at Stony Brook University. She went on to complete her internal medicine internship at New York University and her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center where she served as chief resident. She concluded her training by completing fellowship in Interventional Pain Management where she was named a Top Doctor of 2024 by Best in New York Magazine- Doctors Edition.
Dr. Ortiz is active in the community and has spent the past five years volunteering with Adaptive Sport Medicine which makes sports and exercise accessible for the limb-loss community and the mobility impaired. Her passion is driven by the bonds she builds with her patients and the enjoyment she finds in restoring their quality of life.
In her free time, Dr. Ortiz can be found enjoying as much musical theater as she can find and traveling with her partner to as many countries as they can visit.
